CLAW 'Zee Rescues a Friend' Educational Childrens' Book

CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) is an animal clinic near the Durban Deep mines in the West Rand of Johannesburg. They provide desperately needed veterinary services to dogs and cats, as well as vital animal care education to pet owners in Johannesburg's poorest township areas.

Many of the referrals they recieve are from children in the area and often it is those same children who bring pets for preventative treatment or report abuses or animals in need. In order to help them to keep educating the children in the vicinity and to encourage them to become compassionate adults, we wrote a book about a little boy who helps to rescue a dog in need.

The funds for the production of the book were raised on crowdfunding platform, Thundafund. Printing costs were kindly covered by RMB, so the extra funds and money raised was donated to the NPO. Books that were not distributed to children in the area were sold to raise more funds for vetrinary care and food for animals housed at the shelter attached to the clinic.
